Willkommen nach Baal

Cruor Angelus by MajesticChicken

So, After weeks of doodling around many army options and likes I ended up where I started, with Blood Angels.

When I first started with Warhammer, I liked the IG, and I even started working on em and for some months I was thrilled and even today, I deeply enjoy how on the grim darkness of the far future they are the closes as simple humans, I can understand em.

But then, (and for this I blame all the SM propaganda) I started to like the Power Armored fellas, back then I didn't knew nor was fond about any Chapter, so I started looking on what seemed the most heavily armored units, which lead me to terminators, subsequently Deathwing and Logan Wolfs, but what really got me was the SpaceHulk board game, I loved those Blood Angel terminators, so I decided to go the aesthetic path.

So back then I em went Blood Angel based on the looks, and tho it was a superficial pick, now as a more mature player I find it was right.

Moral of the story, Trust your Instincts.

Inquisitorial Warbands

Last time I talked about Grey Knights I focused on what I knew about them, which basically was the power armored, I mean, i knew about the Inquisitors and their warbands, but didn't really cared, until I heard some bat-reports about them kicking buts, (again, Grey Knights Everywere!)

So I took a dip on the codex again, and review said units, and let me say, they are just as good as their power armored counterpart.

First of all, the inquisitors are their focus HQ, and they can be customized from a Caparace armored mean looking guy, to a fully armed terminator-like killing machine. That itself its something to look for, but then we have the Warbands.

This units are basically the henchmen from the Inquisitors, and anyone who has encountered any Inquisition related data, know that could be almost anything and everything. Dex-wise we can mix from Psychers, arco-flagelants, demon hosts, to the very variably Acholythes (Dark Heresy RPG Characters :D).

For me this opens a whole new world of options, almost as a whole new codex itself, all of that with the option to combine it with the already known awesome Grey Knights.

I still have to review the ramifications of this recent enlightenment, but for sure I'll come back to talk about it.

Grey Knights a-Lot

So, today as I was reading my regular blogs, I was shocked that 3 out of 4 were talking about their Grey Knights! I know ppl follow trends, I know ppl belive on the Codex Creep (belief that the newest codex is the strongest) and I Know damn good that Grey Knights are awesome! But this really gives me crashing feelings.

When I started my Blood Angels, GreyKnights were around the corner, I didnt knew em, and thats probably why I didnt chose em then. I build an elite Blood Angels Army, and I even named em "Blood Knights". So I couldnt avoid noticing the similarities with the then-recently Grey Knights.

Well, I couldnt change my mind back then, mostly because I fell in love with my Blood Knights, but since then I've had the Grey Knights on high esteem. Not so long ago I was thinking about getting some GreyKnights myself, but they are starting to look to mainstream now =/

Im not sure, I'll probaly just let them cool of some time on my wish list. Whats sure, is that I'll start getting ready to beat em on the fields, as they seem to be gaining ground, AND games.

Deathwatch RPG

So, after 1 weak I finally received my pre-order promo skins for Space Marine, it was a big hassle but finally i got my Iron Warrior and Emperor Son's Armour pack, nor that I cared much about em anyway :D

Aside from that as I was talking about Dark Heresy RPG, now I'll take on "Deathwatch" another RPG from the same producers:

This time we take our Power Armour and bolters, and play as SpaceMarines, but not any space marine, but from the not-so-secret Secret Chapter "Deathwatch". This group, nor a chapter per-se gathers some of the best brothers of the Imperium, to fight alongside the Inquisition, specifically the Ordo Xenos.

On this Mix-up of chapters, every brother has to fit themselves with diferent and even oposing ideologies, Space wolfs, and Dark angels, side to side, or Blood angel and ultramarine desciding wich is the best tactic, it all makes facing the Xenos a more complex thing this time.

about the mechanics of the game, it follows the same engine as Dark Heresy, and its even compatible, Obviously its on a different scale level, as we are now fighting Hordes and even Carnifex'es which is awesome!

As usual, any interest on this, beep me.

Space Marine First Impressions (by Talty)

As you can see Oka has been in a bit of Space Marine frenzy, and me too (sort of) because of all the time we spend together. I thought I would give you my impressions of the Space Marine game from the point of view of an Ork lover.

First, the obvious complain: I WANT TO PLAY AS AN ORK. No Ultramarine, no Blood Raven, no Chaos Marine. ORK ORK ORK ORK. I want to run around yelling "WAAAGH!" and ground those damned "Spaice Marines" with my Big Choppa to pink mist, like they do to my beloved Orks. The multiplayer would benefit so much from adding Orks to the playable characters.

Now that I got that out of my system I'm also a bit disappointed with the representation of the Orks in the campaign mode. I don't like their voices, they sound too human to me and they don't have nearly as many "ughs!" and "aghs!" as they should. Ork zpelin' iz verrrry diztinktyv, and they should have reflected that in the way the Orks talk (or well, yell). I demand more growling!!!

Second, it's also disappointing that the Orks are so... cloned? All the Boyz look pretty much the same, even the Nobz are identical! Fluff-wise, I can't see that happening. I can't imagine the Orks deciding to dress all the same and picking a color scheme. And I know I'm being a bit picky about it, but I don't care! Orks should be Orks!

So well those are my first impressions. I loved a few scenes of the Orks fighting each other or doing Ork stuff. I'll keep cheering for them while Oka plays! GO ORKS!!

Dark Heresy RPG

So, after a great weakend of massive multiplayer playing (I played masively!) of Space Marine, a great game btw. I went back to an old classic, RPGames, yeah I was that freaky back in high school, and I loved it.

Back then i played World of Darkness games, but now with all my spare time around 40k, I had to check their RPGs.

"Dark Heresy" suits you as an Inquisitor's Acolyte, and tho Im not a big fan of the Ordos, I've found rather fun and interesting all the freedom it allows(as a good RPG), while still giving us enough direction on how to play.

For now, Im still reading the rules and nicks of the game, while trying to make some characters and playtest em.

Anyone interested on Space Marine Multiplayer or Dark Heresy RPG, just beep me.

Space Marine First Impresions

So, finally the Gamestore got the copies of the game, SHAMEFULLY they didnt respected the pre-order add-ons, even tho I did not wanted the CSM skins It supposedly included, Its blasphemy! They shall be Purged!

Anyway, moving on. The main Campaign its awesome, 9/10 (Im taking 1 point, because Im a fanboy) the story seems quite on track, the visual effects are topnoch, but what makes it so great is the feeling of the 40k universe.

About the multiplayer, well, I tried to get on a game for a couple of hrs yesterday with no luck, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, but was actually a turn off. Latter that night on my home I was able to join after 20mins waiting, and let me tell you, It worth the wait!

As soon as I got in, it was awesome-sauce! As any other game you have to get the hold of it, and for the first rounds i was sucking, even tho i was having a blast, but not so much latter and after trying the Assault Marine, I was leveling and finishing 2nd.

Anyway, for today, I`ve been trying to get in a game, no luck so far. I hope it gets better on the next days, but for now thats it.

So, as many other fanboys, I preordered The new SpaceMarine videogame. The thing was that the lame store I preordered it, didnt recived em yet! So here I am calling em waiting to get my copy.

BTW as soon i get it, ill be looking for people to play online!

If that worked for something, at least made me write something :D
