Grey Knights Ping Pong

Recently I have been talking about grey knights, And its seems that it wasn't been only me, but EVERYONE

I remember back then, when we first glanced the new Grey Knights, we all were like: OMG full army of terminators! Paladins, are undestructables! Draigo and Librarians Melt everything on the touch!

and more blah like that, I clearly remeber just a few of us thinking, ok, they are strong, how do we beat them?, and took a look at our own army, what are our strengths, how about our weaknesses.

I Myself look and compared my Blood Knights, and they indeed shared some similarities;

-Low model count
-Highly Durable
-Lots of Power Weapons
-High Damage output
-Vulnerable to low AP

So I indeed knew their power, but there was one basic and big difference, As Blood Angels I was A LOT more mobile and dynamic

Honestly i hadn't seen all the GK perks and rules but I was clear on that, and I based my counter measures on that.

That was months ago, and since then there has been a lot of talk about the Grey Knights.
First some said, they weren't as good, then suddenly everyone was having hard times against em, and finally they are everywhere kicking everyone's butt!

And for months I've read dozens of articles about it, lately I've rode a couple about "How to finally defeat em!" and you know what, after finely analyzing every aspect and detail of their strengths and weakness..

"Use your own army strengths against their weaknesses"..."If your mobile (like Blood Angels) beat them there"...

At this point, I'm not trying to say "Told you so" but instead, not to get yourself guided by the popular opinion, even when they seem much more experienced or knowing.

Instead trust your insight, know your army, understand its nature, embrace its feeling, trust the Card's Heart.

Just then maybe tons of "experts" dissecting the new army for months get to the same conclusion you got on a moment of insight.

Willkommen nach Baal

Cruor Angelus by MajesticChicken

So, After weeks of doodling around many army options and likes I ended up where I started, with Blood Angels.

When I first started with Warhammer, I liked the IG, and I even started working on em and for some months I was thrilled and even today, I deeply enjoy how on the grim darkness of the far future they are the closes as simple humans, I can understand em.

But then, (and for this I blame all the SM propaganda) I started to like the Power Armored fellas, back then I didn't knew nor was fond about any Chapter, so I started looking on what seemed the most heavily armored units, which lead me to terminators, subsequently Deathwing and Logan Wolfs, but what really got me was the SpaceHulk board game, I loved those Blood Angel terminators, so I decided to go the aesthetic path.

So back then I em went Blood Angel based on the looks, and tho it was a superficial pick, now as a more mature player I find it was right.

Moral of the story, Trust your Instincts.

SG 2

Hello there!

As you might know, if you have been reading this, las month I've been working on my First Sanguinary Guard Unit, and I've taken it slowly, caring for every lil bit with care and love, its been slow but quite joyfully.

Last time I uploaded just a quick Pic. from em, and the idea was to take a nice picture afterwards, sadly we afronted some technical difficulties, but finally we managed a new pic, with added detain and a nice format, also to be uploaded to DA. Without further addo:

It seems to me that I've managed to get the hang of the golden armor, and I'm almost finishing the rest of the models, so more pics coming soon.

Sanguinary Guard #1

So, as you may have seen, I got lots of Blood Angles love last month, and it has been "Osom"! to work with, I'm taking it slowly and carefully, enjoying every aspect of the hobby, from reading and getting inspired, knowing as much as possible from the unit and the warriors I'm bringing to life.

Only after being aware of what and who i am modeling, I do my best to try to make justice to the lovely models, every single lil bit has its background, every insignia or honor is considered and acknowledged when painted. Whit every stroke of the brush, with every layer on the artificer armor, I visualize the thousands of years it represent.

And just like this, after 3 weeks of work, the first two Sanguinary Guardians are completed, ready to bring a rain of blood and doom to the enemies of mankind, and hopefully with the help of these gorgeous models, I was able to project the magnificence of the Golden Saints.

Squad VI Blood Knights

It was time for an update! Some time ago I posted about some combat Squad I was working on, well it worked out pretty well! It seem Im improving my painting skills, i ventured even deeper on freehand detailing and after understanding a lil better how to apply layers of details it seem to have proven right.

I followed my BK scheme, with some additions on the shoulder pads. stating the Squad and the Company. Some individual and team Heraldic Featuring the Sgt's (Black pad)

So lets give it a look:

Some Fluff behind them;

Chapter: Blood Knights
Company: 2nd
Squad: VI

Every mission has an objective, sometimes as basic as survive and most of the times the burden the battle brothers must endure includes gathering valuable intell or protecting sacred ground, retrieving ancient and rare technology or even in some other times the deed includes keeping alive the light of humanity and hope.

Every brother knows this, even on an elite and rentless attack force as the Blood Knights when most sheer blood and ripe thought the enemy to emerge victorious, Its up to the VI Squad, to stay back and ensure someone is there to claim the objectives, to take the resources or to protect the human hearts.

As this, on the tabletop, this VI Squad stays back and when the time comes grab the objectives letting the full force of the army rain fire and blood on the enemy

First entry and some Blood Knights

Hi there, Oka here.

So, a blog, this is kinda wierd I must say, I have never been a blog or journal guy, tried it, but never keeped it, So ill try harder this time, Talty has done some work to get this up, so ill do my best.

Anyway, on the Warhammer topic, (you guys are gonna read lots of this) I've been working on various things, from terrain, playtests and of course modeling, so ill be posting them bit by bit.

So, the army I've been working are The Blood Knights (the codex says Knights of Blood, but i like this better) a sub-chapter of the Blood Angels, I'll write more deeply about em another time.

Today we have some Tactical Marines I just build, they still need to be painted but I like how the are going.

*Look at my mug, its Laughing Octopus from MGS4!

So what you guys think? any sugestion or comments?
